From 1 August the Chief Editor of 24.hu to date, Péter Szigeti will lead the 24.hu digital news portal as Digital Portal Manager. At the same time, the previous Deputy Editor, Péter Pető will take over as Chief Editor and Managing Editor Dániel Bita will be promoted to Deputy Editor. Szigeti has led and developed the editorial board of 24.hu since October 2017, during which period 24.hu has become a compelling player of the Hungarian online news market.

Over the past three quarters visits to the site have grown by nearly 50%, which means that at a weekly level 24.hu is now the number one provider of online news to consumers in Hungary. In the recent past, the journalists of 24.hu have been recognised with such prestigious professional awards, among others, as the Award for Quality Journalism, the Honorka Hégető Award, the Hungarian Press Award or the Dorka Vizy Memorial Award. In the future, Péter Pető will direct content production and the daily work of the editorial office.

In the position of Portal Manager, which has been newly created at 24.hu, but is well-established at other products of Central Media Group, Péter Szigeti will now become responsible for the long-term content- and business strategy of the portal.

In line with the development strategy of the publisher the responsibilities of Péter Szigeti will not only cover 24.hu in the future: he will also lead the Vezess.hu portal and autóMAGAZIN, as well. This transformation will place the business management of the online products of Central Media Group aimed primarily at male readers in the hands of a single person and will establish the structure in which the online portfolio of the publisher will be organised into female-oriented, male-oriented, lifestyle, and data-based product groups.
