24 Extra marks its second anniversary with premium content from more Central brands and a host of new shows

Contributors from Marie Claire, Vezess, Nők Lapja and REFRESHER will now feature regularly on 24 Extra as the platform celebrates its second anniversary.

24 Extra, 24.hu’s subscription service, now offers selected articles from other brands within Central Media Group alongside 24.hu’s own content, creating a shared digital space for the portfolio’s editorial strengths. Meanwhile, Kamilla Vida is launching a studio interview series, Filéző returns for a new season, and a new business podcast will feature financial experts from Accorde Asset Management.

Contributors from Marie Claire, Vezess, Nők Lapja and REFRESHER will now feature regularly on 24 Extra as it celebrates its second anniversary, further enriching 24.hu’s subscription offering.

“This means all 24 Extra subscribers will also gain access to premium articles on topics we have not previously covered: more interviews, more exploration of social trends and issues, fresh perspectives on motoring, and the viewpoints of the youngest generations of readers. In other words, we are bringing more facets of reality to 24.hu so that our readers can see the full picture.”

“Over the past two years, 24 Extra has demonstrated that quality journalism can provide a solid foundation for a subscription business model. Our readers are willing to pay for valuable content and can find an option that suits their needs across our subscription tiers. Our loyal subscriber base and high retention rate show that we are building lasting trust. Today, 24 Extra is a strategic pillar for both 24.hu and Central Media Group: alongside advertising revenue, our direct relationships with readers provide a foundation for growth. Our second anniversary is another milestone as we continue to invest in content and technology.”

As part of this investment in content, the podcast offering will expand from November. Kamilla Vida, 24.hu’s Opinion Editor, will launch Alany-állítmány, a freely accessible studio interview series. A new season of Filéző is also on the way: in each episode, Márton Jankovics and Dr Luca Varga will explore a divisive food ingredient, joined by a guest. Early episodes will feature Kristóf Steiner and György Dragomán. Meanwhile, 24.hu and Accorde Asset Management are launching a joint business show, Vadnyugati kapitalizmus, in which János Kele will speak with Attila Gyurcsik, Accorde’s CEO, and Dániel Tunkli, its Chief Investment Officer. Like Filéző, the podcast will be available in full to subscribers to 24 Extra’s Csúcs tier, with excerpts available free of charge.

24.hu’s events programme will also continue. The Mozi24 film club will screen Megáll az idő (Time Stands Still), while the Ziccer podcast will host a supporters’ club event in November. Editorial office tours will also launch under the name Szerkszafari. These offer readers the chance to explore the newsroom and 24.hu’s studio with members of the editorial team over a soft drink or a glass of wine.

The range of books jointly published with BookLab, Central Publishing Group’s nonfiction division, is also expanding. Mohács, the latest book by Dániel Bihari, author of the bestseller A tatárjárás, was launched a few weeks ago. Later this autumn, it will be joined by József Nagy’s book of reportage, Mozdonyfüst, and Bálint Szajki’s accompanying photography book, Idő-Állomás.

“With 24 Extra, we promise our subscribers distinctive content of exceptional quality that gives them a reason to keep coming back. Our acclaimed journalists deliver on that promise, winning prestigious professional awards year after year and publishing a series of bestselling books in collaboration with BookLab. Over the past two years, we have built a loyal community of readers whose trust reminds us every day that there is still a need for thorough, in-depth journalism. That trust also carries a significant responsibility: we are constantly working to offer even more valuable content and ensure that our subscribers continue to feel it is worth staying with us in the years ahead.”
